Hi! We’re Maya and Miguel, a husband-and-wife team living in the beautiful hills in Sintra, Portugal, with our two children.

Maya is Canadian-born and fell in love with Portugal—and with me—more than 2 decades ago. Miguel, was born and raised here in the Lisbon area surfing on the Cascais coast, giving us the perfect blend of local knowledge and an international perspective.

Photography has always been at the heart of what we do. As professional photographers, we’ve spent years capturing unforgettable moments for families and travelers visiting Portugal while exploring the country’s stunning landscapes, charming towns, and hidden gems. Through our work, we’ve developed a deep appreciation for sharing Portugal’s beauty, culture, and authentic experiences with people from around the world.

As more families traveled to Portugal and booked us to document their vacations, we found ourselves doing much more than taking photos. We were sharing our favorite viewpoints, introducing hidden gems, recommending local restaurants, and telling the stories behind the places they were visiting. Before long, those personal experiences evolved into Pictours.

Today, Pictours combines our passion for photography, authentic travel, and meaningful local experiences. Our guided tours in Lisbon, Sintra, Cascais and beyond are designed to help visitors discover Portugal through the eyes of locals—whether that’s wandering charming streets, exploring dramatic coastlines, finding the best photo spots, or enjoying authentic Portuguese food and culture.

For years, we’ve loved welcoming friends and family from around the world, showing them the places we grew up with, sharing our history and traditions, and creating memorable experiences in a relaxed, fun, and personal way. That’s exactly the experience we now offer every guest who joins us.
